Help with Salamader pumps

Hi All, I have a Salamander pump attached to the bathroom taps /showwers. Unfortunately it is located in my sons bedroom and it is noisy, as one would expect.
Is it possible to complelely remove the pump amd see what the water prsessure is like.
I have had two plumbers in sop far and thier advice is to remove the tank and pumps and install a Megaflow and new boiler.. cost circa £3000

It should be perfectly possible. If it's plumbed in on flexible hoses and there's enough slack, you might be able to use a 1/2" or 3/4" coupler as a temporary test measure.
It will depend on such things as how easy it is to isolate the supply, etc, but should be possible.

Have you tried just turning the pump off! Salamander can be a little noisy, we have a whole house pump but only switch it on when showering. We do on occasion shower without it on if we have guests still in bed; pressure is not great & you don't get the same effect as you would imagine but it's sufficient to have shower.

I assume your checked the flexi hoses are not strained & transmitting noise & the that pump is correctly mounted on a solid base with an anti vibration mat; a lump of paving slab works well. Ive since found Stuart Turner Monsoon to be much quieter pumps; replacing the boiler & spending £3k on a Megaflow seems a rather expensive & extravagant solution.
