Hello all
I have today painted my wooden window frames with upvc windows built in with. Gloss and it's horrid far to shiney and shows all of the imperfections in the wood.
Should I paint over it in eggshell or vinal silk so it does not stand out but looks clean.

Help please all so I ca start again

What you should do is fill the imperfections but the three main finishes are eggshell which is low sheen, satin which is mid sheen and gloss is high sheen. The lower the sheen the less the imperfections will show. You used to be able to buy dead flat oil but thinks its gone now

Thanks for the advice I did one coat with the eggshell and it looks lovely and does not look odd next to upvc.
Monday I will fill any holes with wood filler give I a light sand down and give it a second coat.

Eggshell it is for me for the future, not keen on gloss.

Thanks

You will have to spot prime the filler once rubbed down or it will flash.
