Hi, just after a bit of advise.

I'm currently getting quotes together for a new Combi boiler, but have been told the gas pipe will have to be swapped as current one is too small.

To put the pipe internally will mean ripping up laminate and a lot of work. The alternative is to run the pipe vertically 3 or 4 meters up an external wall. Two problems with this, first is it will look unsightly and secondly there is a problems with theft of copper piping in the area.

Steel pipe is an alternative but will still look ugly. Is it possible to hide the piping in some kind of plastic trunking or drain piping? Is this against gas regs?

Thanks.

False plastic drain pipe will happily hide it.

An alternative is stay with a system boiler that will probably not need an upgrade to the gas pipe and install an unvented cylinder for mains pressure hot water.

If the floor boards run the right way has your plumber thought of trac pipe.
Flexible stainless steel pipe that can simply be pulled under the floor with
out taking all the flooring up.

Laminate flooring is just a pain and is nothing but trouble. Won't have it
in my house.
