Hiding wiring for TV mounted on chimney

Firstly you'll get neck ache having a TV that high, secondly if you drill in to the chimney, you risk breaching the chimney with your frame fixers etc for the mount and will create a potential fire hazard, thirdly I think your wooden surround might be to close to be compliant, fourthly I think the hearth may be too small.

If you absolutely have to have it there, run it down the side and plasterboard the channel.
I disagree on a couple of points.
I have my tv very high because I sit far from it and most times I recline the sofa, so the natural line of vision is up.
Chimneys are double skinned, so a 50mm hole in the bricks won't compromise anything.
Op, what's wrong with simply chase the plaster and hide the wires there?
The rest of the wires are hidden in the same way.
I know it would need some decoration after, but you'll only do it once and you can have a socket behind the tv (25mm pattress box or 25mm metal chased into the plaster) , so no wires visible at all.
