Hi,
I am installing a built in woodstove (barbas escamo 100) it has a metal jacket around it that air passes through and is vented out the top via pipes. I need to insulate outside the metal jacket with some form of mineral wool that is good to at least 700 degrees C but when I talk to Jewsons/Travis etc. they all say they can't help. I am waiting for a reply from the hetas guys that are going to check the install but I think they may have closed down for christmas.. Am also waiting for a call back from rockwool but they are a bit funny about talking to private customers as opposed to companies.
Can anyone confirm whether standard rockwool would be okay up to this temperature? I also have to insulate the flue (single skin) and would be grateful for any suggestions..
pic of fire in place below
cheers
