Prizes for the highest measured Ze's.

Last year, I found 1936 ohms on a TT.

A few months ago, I had 967 ohms on a TN-S.

Today, I astounded a Central Networks engineer on a job in Stoke.

I showed him my Alphatek's reading of 1137 ohms....

On TN-C-S!!!!

a reading like that on a TN-C-S either means that your tester is ****ed or your earth isn't actually connected to the neutral. If the earth was connected to the neutral and the neutrals impedance was that high you wouldn't be able to run anything.

Funnily enough, my tester is not knackered.

And there was 240 at each outlet. It helped that the MEB's were in place. That reduced the Zs to 5.64 Ohms.

It was proven by the CN engineer that it had been that way since the house was built in 1975. When he opened the cut-out, the link between E & N blocks was very loose.

right, or to put it another way your earth was not properly connected to the neutral due to thier screwup.

If it was loose isn't it a case of non screw up.......

Company issue, not my choice...although I have used worse... ;)
