The internal 12A fuse blew on this, and checking the diode between the condensor and earth, I find this has shorted. Trouble is, I am having difficulty finding replacements, as the local electricians, and spares shops do not hold them. Any suggestions?

maplin?

the question should really be what caused the diode to short, unfortunately in todays society it is sometimes easier to bin it and buy new

Thanks, breezer
I've managed to find a supplier on-line, Signals UK, and they were also able to supply a replacement posistor for my TV.
The microwave works fine now, so I'm hoping there was nothing wrong beyond the diode.
