I am making a floor to ceiling cupboard in my bathroom and am looking for concealed hinges to attach the door. In this case, the hinge will need to attach the door to the front face of the cupboard, not the side like most cabinet concealed hinges, in other words, the front of the cupboard and the door are in the same plane. The material is melamine faced chipboard but I don't seem to be able to find any hinges which will do this, can anyone tell me if they exist?

After much blood sweat and tears, I think I have managed to do the drawing.

The normal 90 degree hinge needs the fixed (not door) part to be at 90 deg on the side of the cupboard which is difficult due to the dimensions involved. Not sure if the cranked hinge would work.

Are you wanting the hinge to be completely concealed? If you don't mind the edges of the hinges showing (you can get them ready finished in white if that would make them less conspicuous) then you could simply attach wooden battens behind the edges of the chipboard to take ordinary flush hinges.

If you want the hinge-line to be completely devoid of protrusions, then all I can think of is some kind of dowel and socket arrangement between the upper and lower door edges and the ceiling/floor. You'd have to make sure these could support the weight and leverage of the door (and you might have to reinforce the chipboard too).

The hinge you need is refered to as a "blind corner hinge" should be able to get one here

There you go Stagman. Guess Jason's idea would be the perfect solution if you're happy to cut the mounting holes. I'd never seen one of these before. Will bear them in mind myself.
