Hip to Gable Conversion

Hello,

I have a 1930s 4 bed detached house with a hipped roof at all sides and am looking for some advice about conversions.

I'd really like a loft conversion if possible but at the moment I can't see a way of getting stairs into the loft without losing bedroom space due to the hipped roof preventing enough headroom for stairs.

One option would be a hip to gable conversion but these look like a very large undertaking however I'm due to get a new roof and fascias in the next year so wondering whether it would be much of a saving/help to get them done at the same time or whether it doesn't make too much of a cost saving?

Any thoughts on whether worth it or cheaper to move house if I need the space?
