Turned the mains off for a small job and now the boiler won’t turn on. It’s a standard boiler from the 80s.

Hive appears to be working fine but putting on water etc doesn’t kick start the boiler like it did.

Any ideas?

No reset button and the only thing I turned off was the mains and a pipe that feeds cold water from the loft to upstairs bathroom. Both are back on.

Is it a combi?
The reason I ask is that mine isn’t and if I turned it off and then back on again, even with hive, nothing would 'kick in' when I put the water on. It would only 'kick in' when the temperature in my hot water cylinder went below a set temperature.

Make/model of boiler. Is there power to the boiler? Some boilers I believe don’t like to be turned off, without something going wrong.

Can you post a photo of the wiring? Have you checked the motorised valve(s)?
