An idea of the boiler would be a good start. Did it work previously, or is this a new installation?

Ariston r18
Seems to have been playing up lately was working this morning but even when ch light on receiver the boiler only seemed to fire up when pressed the water heat light
Now no power to boiler even though both green lights and status light on ???
Thought a fuse may have blown but no fuses appear on route from receiver to boiler

Perhaps its not the controller or stat?

If its a zoned system, the zone valves may have failed. If you have them, find them and set the head to manual and see if the boiler then fires?

Do you have an S-plan, Y-plan or different? Likely to be a failure of one of these before the boiler. The boiler will likely work on a switch live.

It’s a regular system ch hot water system cylinder tank and header tank
Thought it might be the tri-valve so as a bit of elimination I have changed that as It has broke in the past …
didn’t give any thought to the electronics associated with the receiver

Don’t think it’s zoned not sure but I am aware it is old system and just pumps water to all the radiators or hot water tank coil

What you’re calling a tri-valve sounds like a 3 port mid position valve (Y-plan) or diverter (W-plan). Can you post photos of boiler panel, the Hive and the valve in the cylinder cupboard?

Will do tomorrow

Yes it is a 3 port mid position

???
Got home ready to take photos as suggested of boiler and controls
Can’t believe it started working perfectly !!!
All green lights on receiver and measured power going to boiler
Worked for a few hours ch and water ok
Now stopped again
All green lights on receiver as if ok BUT no power going to boiler … it’s as if the receiver has stopped talking to the boiler
Reset the power to receiver a number of times and still nothing to boiler
Receiver lights all ok and green but just not telling boiler what to do ???
Even the wireless thermostat can switch the green lights on and off on the reviver so it gets the instruction ok from there what to do but nothing passed on to boiler . ???

Can even hear the clicking of what sounds like relays in the receiver as green lights come on but nothing happens on boiler ??

REPEAT it is the boiler not the Hive, pics of the boiler control panel please
