Hi all.
I swapped a Honeywell thermostat with a hive mini, the hive receiver has power and is on, connected to the hub and thermostat, but when I turn the heating on in the app or on the thermostat the usual solid green light on the receiver goes to flashing yellow/orange every 2 seconds and the lower light is a blinking green light every 4 seconds which also makes a click. It seems that it’s failing to turn the boiler on.
I’ve attached photos of the cables, I’ve connected black to 3, grey to neutral, brown to permanent live, and made a loop from permanent live to common. I haven’t attached the earth as it doesn’t need it (with the black tape on the end).
I’ve attached photos of the inside of the boiler circuit board, I’m not sure which shows the relevant cables though, but I can’t seem to find that black cable. I think it’s because the cable from the thermostat runs into a box with an on/off switch and a 3a fuse.
Ignore the cables connected to the receiver in one of the photos, this isn’t how I have it set up, but that’s how the cables were connected on the old thermostat.
Is it something simple where I’m going wrong?
