Hive removal - rough idea of cost?

...you should pop over to 'Plumbing and C/H' occasionally, to see how often questions about these backplates come up! They may be as common as Drayton claims! ;)
I've worked in the controls industry for 20 years. I promise they are NOT as standard or even common as any manufacturer may claim. I can add as many winks as I like but I have attended far too many sites to recall or count to get systems working after others have incorrectly wired devices (including domestic programmers) to 'the standard'.:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:

To my mind to use same back plate for single, twin and triple channel with single being volt free, and others low voltage (230 volt) only, is asking for problems.

Add to that used for programmers, thermostats, and programmable thermostats.

But back to basics first, what does the wall thermostat do? With an open plan home or ducted air, it can control the whole house, but in real terms this is rare.

Also boiler type, most can use on/off thermostats, but also many work better with modulating thermostats, (up/down).

So first you look at what would be best, then cheapest, and then select something between the two.
