I've used the Hive system for a few years now but it's now it's not working.

Last night my temperature dropped below my set minimum. My Vaillant ecotech boiler is telling me S.30 (No heating demand from external controls, clamp 3/4 open) despite everything looking OK on the app and despite a boost being used which again looked OK on the app.

Strangely my app was boosting my hot water however so there must have been some communication between the receiver and the boiler.

This afternoon however neither the hot water nor CH is coming on again with error code S30.

The chimney sweep function on the boiler seems to work, is there another way to override everything and make the boiler kick in and turn on for longer than the chimney sweep?

I not sure what's broken here. Can anyone suggest anything?

It sounds like you have a system boiler (an Ecotec plus) and some motorised valves - can you confirm and or elaborate?

I think is what you mean

you have a Y plan, and that is where your problem is, the mid position valve or other external controls are faulty, S codes are status codes, not fault codes, nothing to do with the boiler
