Hive with Worcester 28CDi

I am trying to fit a heating only hive to a Worcester 28CDI combi.
The light on the hive comes on but the boiler doesn't fire up.
I have removed the stat but do I need to take anything out of the boiler.

Stat and Control wiring attached

Hoping for some inspiration.

You need to complete the old stat circuit or remove it altogether. Refit the old thermostat set to maximum and see if the boiler fires up.

Thanks Chris....will give it a try later this week.
If it does work I assume that I can connect red to yellow on the stat and cap off blue and earth to override it. Am I correct?
If not by leaving the existing stat of full will the hive run as it should?

Update
Eventually got round to trying with the existing Stat set to maximum....works perfectly.
