Hi everyone

I've been asked to fit some LED lights in a flightsof traditional stairs - 10 lights, 2 in each alternate tread (thereabouts). The cut outs would be near the edge and approx 2" diameter.

My question is, is this OK? I obviously don't want to compromise the construction of the stairs! Heat not a problem as LED's run reasonably cool and the stairs are open underneath (ie not plaster boarded)

Any other things I need to think about??

Hope you can advise!

Many thanks
SB

I can't see any problems with this particularly, so long as you don't go too close to the edge.....wouldn't it be better to put the LED's in the risers though?
No problems with heat dispersion as there won't be any to bother about, but keeping the wiring tidy underneath could be an issue!
Only my opinion....!

Hi Burnerman

Many thanks for reply. The client wants them in the treads... I do as I'm told!

Will keep in a bit from the edges. I should be able to clip the wiring tidily as it's in an understairs cupboard, so won't be on show.

Cheers

SB
