Hello,
I've recently bought an 1890s Victorian terrace and I have a concern about a patch of wall in the upstairs bathroom, there are several fine cracks in the wall radiating from the modern PVC-u window. The area around the largest (still only hairline) crack sounds hollow. I'm not sure what type of plaster it is, possibly original lime but more likely a modern gypsum plaster. It would be then directly onto the original 9" solid brick external wall. I have no plan to change anything in the room (besides fill cracks) but I was hoping I could be reassured about this bit of wall, or else given advice on any issues& how they could be rectified. Any comments would be appreciated.
