Home and Away, what is going on?

My Nest thermostat is only there to do DHW and CH only if we have lit a fire in the living room, in the main the Wiser thermostat controls the boiler, so not really worried any more what Nest does, however today heard the heating running, but living room warm from sun through windows, so looked at Nest

I noted Away, went to make a cup of coffee, so walked past the thermostat in the hall, and on return it shows Home. The last 10 days shows energy history as being no usage, as expected, as Wiser has been turning on the boiler, but my phone is at home, and charged, and switched on, and Home and Away Assist is turned off. Mobile Phone location is greyed out, and has been for a couple of years, after a storm damaged the local cell site, which caused my heating to turn off.

But it has been programmed in, so Nest could I suppose still use its location to select Home or Away, but since geo-fencing has been turned off, why does it bother actually showing home or away?

As said, does not worry me, Wiser now turns on heating when required, Nest is still connected, but really only so, if required, I can use boiler for domestic hot water. But for those who still rely on Nest, I can see it could be a problem. I note reading the Nest help

When you enable phone location in one app, it automatically stops sharing phone location from the other.

Since my daughter, wife, and I share location on Google Maps, we always have that app running.

I don't know how long it takes to switch from Home to Away, but coffee drunk, and it has not reverted to Away. So waited longer, took around an hour before it showed but since it does not seem to affect when it switches on, why even show it?
