Had an interesting chat today with somebody from Homeserve corporate. They employ zero heating engineers for insurance claims, and have not done for some two years. Everything gets done by subbies at a ****-poor rate, with the usual poor conditions, and mushroom management.
It does not seem very likely that they are/were/will be capable of attracting/retaining high quality engineers with lots of experience and knowledge.
Something to remember for engineers and homeowners alike.
