As above - they are toluene based solvents so motor factor stuff is fine.
Regarding carburettor removal - the carb is held on with 2 bolts, a third one holds the air cleaner inner part, and on the back of that there is a breather hose to connect.
The carb has a plethora of gaskets and also a heat spacer and these need to be in the correct order and orientation......this is where your third hand comes in when you put the thing back on :ROFLMAO:

Well that may have helped make a decision.:ROFLMAO:
Seriously, the single most preventative measure anyone with machinery can take, is drain the carb of fuel at seasons end.
Pic is of Honda carb stood for 6 months, where fuel had evaporated and ethanol residue had glued the needle valve in an open position .
That residue also blocks jets and lines the walls of the drillings throughout the carb .
Carb cleaner can help but it's far from a magic bullet.

Lawn mower carburetor cleaner ?

Purchased a can of this cleaner, Would you suggest spray into carburetor and leaving it to soak if so how long would should I leave it ?
OR spray and start up straight away ?
 
Basically you use the solvent to thoroughly clean the outside of the carb and then use it to flush through the internal pieces once the carb is dismantled.....squirting it into the venturi isn't effective.
