Honda Jazz Service Oil Grade?

I am going to service the wife's Honda Jazz. The Honda service manual says you can basically use any grade 0/5/10/15W - 20/30/40 and to select the appropriate one based on the ambient working temperature.

Opie oils says one grade, Halfrauds recommend another. I am tempted to use 5W30 fully synthetic as that is what my car takes and I have loads of anyway. There is no mention anywhere of a particular spec the oil has to be (e.g. on my car it must neet VW 504/507 spec) so I assume I can use any make?

Unless anyone has a better idea?

That sounds OK to me, but check with your Honda dealer they might be able to help?

Thanks for that. Phoned the dealer, the Honda party line is they recommend Castrol products. I buy Castrol edge 5W30 for my car in bulk off the interweb so will just use that. Least the Jazz only takes 3.5 lt. not the almost 6 litres it takes to fill mine.

I think you could stick olive oil in a Honda engine and it would still not wear out

Castrol Edge 5/30 sounds fine to me!
