Hi - I have replaced the head (only) of the above 3 way valve as the hot water tank has not been receiving hot supply. With the motor head off the valve stem seemed to turn with no prob's. Central heating system is ok. With the programmer/timer set to water only the rads's seem to maintain a hot supply. I guess this is the valve itself playing up but I wonder if the programmer may be at fault? Thanks, John

The valve rests in the hot water position; as such you will have a fault with your clock/cyl stat on first guess.

I actually think the ball will be passing in the valve its self.

If the system is in hotwater only on the clock the valve will rest against the spring. You can cjeck this by pressing the manual lever over. If there is resistance it means the head is where it should be.

If you still get heating the body needs replacing or you can get a service kit which is easy enough to change by removing the 4 8mm bolts from the top plate.
