I have a Honeywell CP038 which is currently displaying Call Engineer - reset required. I have user and manager access codes, not an engineer one. I have tried 112233 which from looking on the internet i thought was the default engineer passcode, but no luck. Does anyone know how i can clear this error? The messages came up in the first place because the battery needed changing, i have done that. I just need to get rid of this message somehow now. I have no manuals or anything with the alarm, it was in the house when i moved in. Would appreciate any help :)

Ah. Never mind. I'm sure some local installer may know a thing or two about these panels. A couple people here will as well I'm sure. Bear in mind some installers will flatly say "No" to whether they know about your system.

What actual control panel do you have ? Now you have found the main box ? It should have a sticker on it !
The cp038 is only the keypad model

nothing on the main box other than the model number, i checked the inside of the panel too.

Hah, that's great. I guess you'll have to do some reaching out and asking around for some local or independent installer then.

do you think if i take the battery out, cut the mains power, then put the battery back, that will reset the system?

I think a total power failure for the system will require an engineer reset, given that it has already asked for an engineer reset for a battery failure. Same thing happens for my Scantronic 9800 (but I then re-programmed it). Back to square one. Getting your hands on a manual will probably help you, however the company who installed the system will have most likely changed the engineer code. If all you had to do to reset a system was turn the mains off and take out the battery, it would be ni-on useless as a system. That reminds me: I need to get an un-switched FCU for my 9800!

One thing to try ....open panel lid down power totally defeat the tamper switch ( if it's the one I am thinking of ) put screw back in top hole, power up battery , then mains as quick as possible , see if you can now reset it ...

OP, you can PM me and I can take you through several steps to recover. It depends on your DIY skill level though.
