I recently bought and fitted a Honeywell DU144 bypass valve to my central heating system.
When I started up the system I found that the valve got hot quite soon which would suggest that a certain amount of water was already passing through it even though I had all my radiators open at the time.
I put my hand on the valve and could feel the water passing through the valve, even when I adjusted it from 2 Bar to 6 Bar it made no difference.
I turned down the pump but it made no difference
Is it normal for this to happen?
