Hi,
I am looking for advice on a project before I start. I intend to install an electric shower in my garage to wash my dogs before they get groomed. I am getting the electric side sorted so that it is safe and legal. What I would like to ask is, can I supply the shower with an ordinary garden hose. The length of run will be approx 25m from house to garage. Will there be enough pressure to run shower.
As I am washing dogs, who normally swim in the sea in Scotland all year round, the temperature will only need to be tepid. My main worry is that I will not have enough pressure for shower.

Is this a wind-up? Or just shear Pikeyness?

I thought the point of this forum was to help someone that was looking for help!!!!
I think that you all are very arrogant with your specialist knowledge. I have a garden hose running the length of my garden. Before I went to the expense of plumbing in a proper pipe I wanted to try out this first.
I asked a simple question “Will there be adequate pressure to safely run the shower”.

No, I am not a travelling one my house is bought and paid for, thank you. It is also not a wind up. It was always my intention to buy the proper pipe. I did not expect to be ridiculed by others
I asked the same question to the electricians about doing the same job on the proper way to do the job electrically and I got proper mature respectful answers back.

Sorry but using a garden hose for an electric shower is just asking for a ribbing - lighten up. When you get asked as many silly questions as we do then you have to be prepared for a few to be a joke...

IF you canne take a bit of stick, then ye shouldn't ask a basic question of a tradesman.... You should have heard some of the p1ss taking I got when I first started...

Sparks have too easy a life anyway - it's all coloured coded for 'em ;).

If i got an answer then i would know what to do.

I only want to know. If i have enough pressure, regardless of what kind of pipe i am using, to to run an electric shower 25m away from house.

I can not make it much simpler than that. If you dont know the answer then you only had to say that you were as dumb as i thought. Its clear after leaving school you wanted to be an electrictian but you did not get enough qualifications so you had to settle for a plumber.

All the abuse i have been given makes me think you are all of you are so up your arse that you think you are all something you will never ever become.

OVER AND OUT MOTHER F U***RS

If its only temporary just try it and see how it works!!
Cant see a problem myself!!
At least its not gas!!

Thanks
Terrywookfit.
Thats what kind of answer i thought i would get from the start.
I was an apprentice when i left school and all the other people that answered before was why i did not finish my trade after 3 years as a spark (40 + years ago ) because i had seen so many people like these that i did not want to be like them.
Moderators cant your tradesmen take questions more seriously.

Bring it on SASSANACHESS.

If you can't take an extremely mild drubbing then you are in serious need of a sense of humour transplant.

You got your answer - it was no. Twice! Then I came in from a long day on the tools and saw your question and the hands went over the eyes and I thought.... Well you saw my post.

You were even given the link for the regulation that said you can't do it.

Hell I even apologised (kind of) in my return post; and if you think my first post made you look a fool - then may I suggest that it sailed a little too close to home?

You did not think that I or any of the others were dumb when you posted your questions; as you didn't know us - and after I did my GCSE's, A-Levels and degree I decided to be a plumber 'cos I could not stand the thought of teaching with the lack of enforced discipline in schools (despite doing a lot of the work expereince required back then) and the thought of office work made my head want to explode.

I then worked in the industry and took the jibes, wind-ups and digs in the way they were intended.... Too toughen you up a little and sort out the wannabee's from the dedicated.

Oh I am Part P certified as well by the way ;).

You got naff all abuse, and I am probably up my own arse, but I have just done my months accounts, so am fairly conformable with what I have become phuk you very much.

Terrywookfit has the best of intentions I am sure but I doubt he is WRAS qualified (which I am by the way) so he might not undestand the backflow risks/regulations.

So I say to you once again... Lighten the hell up and listen to the advise you have been given freely. Now can I go now, I am still laughing at:

that answered before was why i did not finish my trade after 3 years as a spark because i had seen so many people like these

You big jessy :!:

AWH why not use a hose, when they aint bathing dogs they can water the flower garden

I forgot to add:

Why do you need warm water to wash dogs FFS? especially if they have been frollocking in the sea - hose the mutts down with cold water.

Or are you too soft for that as well?

Flaming 'ell I've heard it all now....
