Hot water but no central heating Powermax 155

Hello ive got a powermax 155 i called a plumber who is a friend because i had a leek on a joint he drained the system to fix the leek once done he filled the system. All the radiators are full of water the pump on the left hand side is running when i call for the central heating but no water is getting to it. The system has no filling loop or pressure gauge and the only thing that is working is the hot water. Please help

How did he refill the system?

If you have hot water and the pump on the left hand side is running,

then try bleeding the pump of air.

He re filled it from the stop tap in the kitchen down stairs. How do i bleed the pump?

cearfuilly unscrew the large chrome cap in the center of the pump, place a towel below to catch the water, that will expel with any air in the pump,
you don,t need to unscrew fully

When I read this it makes me think that is is more of a friend than a plumber!

In any case I would always recommend a boiler engineer to work on a boiler!

Check dustcap on top of auto air valve is open .
