Hot Water Cylinder Foam Insulation

Any ideas/tips for repairing a singed area of foam on a hot water cylinder?
It's just surface damage but looks unsightly !
Has anyone heard of or used a suitable paint to cover the damage?

who cares whether a huge ugly thing that is usually keep in the dark has some scratches on it!!!
