Hot Water Cylinder on Economy 7 coming on during peak hours

sorry but you would be as well asking the neighbours dog as asking Bulb, you need to call Northern Electric
I’m not sure I understand this? Bulb own the meter. Northern Electric don’t exist anymore.
So the first point of call has to be with the meter surely which belongs to my energy supplier.

Bulb dont own anything, they are simply an energy seller, same as Tesco, M&S and many others would you go into Tesco and ask about how your meter works? I think Northern Powergrid took over Northern Electric

Thanks but Northern Powergrid advise the following on who owns what when looking to move a meter (which I’m not but this still explains who is responsible for what).

  1. Northern Powergrid - we are responsible for moving the service cable and fuse that is connected to your meter.
  2. Your Electricity Supplier - who own the meter and are responsible for moving your meter on the day of relocation.
  3. Your own Electrician - who will be needed to make any necessary changes to the wiring inside your property connecting the meter to your consumer unit.

well when you switched to bulb, you gave them a meter reading, did they come and put their meter in ?

You’re correct, they didn’t. But they have now just come back to me to ask if they can install 1 5 terminal 2-rate meter to rectify the issue.

You are getting a smart meter, all suppliers have a quota for installing smart meters, Bulb wont own the meter, do you think in 6 months if you switch suppliers they will come and take their meter away ?

Of course not. But they are responsible for my meter, not Northern Powergrid. So I’ve reported it in the correct way and it is being dealt with.
