Hi everyone,

I have a electric only hot water tank with 2 switches on and off peak. I usually keep it on off peak and have enough water. However 2 days ago only had cold water. The light on the off peak switch is not working. The on peak is working and i am getting hot water, but dont want to use this as v.expensive.

What can i do? dont know if to phone electrician or plumber?!

Please help me i dont know what to do?

Check your fuses or circuit breaker, then if need be, call an electrician.

I doubt a sparky would touch an immersion heater element, because there's wet stuff all round it they're a bit shy about.
It's routine for a plumber.
The circuit shoulld be tested though. Most plumbers will just connect it up as it was, only a few will be able to test it.

hi, thanks for your advice.

if im getting hot water from the on peak button, the tank must be working ok?

does it sound like an element needs replacing?
