how do i go about turning off hot water supply to tap in bathroom to replace tap

Depends on what sort of hot water supply you have

First check if there is an isolator on the pipe supplying the tap

Check if there is any type of valve on the hot supply as it leaves the cylinder (pipework at the top of yhe cylinder)

If you have a hot water cylinder then find the cold water supply to the cylinder - usually enters at the bottom of the cylinder then find a valve on the pipe run - could be in the loft where the pipe exits the tank

If you have a combi boiler then close the main supply
