Hi

We have a hot water tank downstairs and a downstairs bathroom only.

We have cold water tank or possibly 2 upstairs.

We wish to put an ensuite upstairs without changing the heating/boiler system.

Is this possible to push hot water upstairs pressure wise??
Thanks

The hot water cylinder is fed from the large upstairs/loft tank, so it will push water up to first floor level. Do not expect good performance though, especially from a shower, as the pressure is dependant on the height of the cold water cistern above the outlet.

Hi
Thanks for the reply’s

So the house upstairs bedrooms are already in the roof space, not a conversion, built like that from the offset. The cold water tanks are in the eves and the shower room would be on the same level.

A shower could be made more powerful With a pump?

I’m not fussed about a hot water tap performance as much to be honest.

Given your setup, a shower, and probably the basin taps, would not work at all without a negative head pump.
