i have combi boiler (in a flat) and it seems to take an age for hot water to come out, would this is be because the run from boiler to kitchen is approx 22m? i dont mind this but putting shower in room next to kitchen and dont want to stand under waiting for it to warm up. whats my solution, move boiler, electric shower??

its just one of the many draw backs of a combi, waiting for the hot water to arrive, the should call non storage combis british rail 
The only ways, that I can think of around it are
1 Replace the boiler with a storage combi (you will stilll have to wait for the hotwater just not as long)
2 install the lectric shower as you said
3 rip out the thing install a convential system with a secondary return on the cylinder
or 4 put up with waiting a bit for the hot water to come, bring a paper in the bog with you
