hotpoint aquarios extra washing machine tripping electric

i have a hotpoint aquarius washing machine and when i start the washing cycle after a while it trips the electrics. when i put it on the rinse and spin cycle to get rid of the water it doesnt trip !!!!!!!! anyone got any ideas please

Try disconnecting the heater element & see if it still trips. If it does not then I would suggest the element is shorting internally to the casing & you will require a new element.
 
thank you , if i need a new element is it new washing machine time lol or are they not that expensive ?
