Hi found this site and wondered if anybody can help me. I have got a flat that I rent to somebody, they have told me the washing machine is washing cold, think they determined this from washing towels and sticking their hands in when it finished. Also things are coming out dirty. So assuming the problem is temperature, is there a heater in washing machines in general? or do you have to feed hot water to a washing machine? There are two pipes going to the wachine blue & red, I am assuming the red is for hot & blue for cold. There is no instant hot water at the premises it works off an immersion heater/water tank, however they haven't been using the immersion, so no hot water would have been feeding into the washing machine. However they have been there a year and only just mentioned it, so I am thinking has the washing machine got a heater within it that has now broken that would have been heating the cold water??? Not a new washing machine nearly 10 yrs old but not much mileage on it, any help would be greatly appreciated even advice on buying a new one that would overcome the lack of hotwater issue, surely wahing machines contain heaters??
Thanks
