Hi, my Hotpoint aquarius washing machine is leaking (from inside, not the door) and making noises as if there is a cog wheel slipping. This is not happening all the time. It might happen 2 times out of 10. I thought it might be due to overloading the machine, but the last time it happened, the machine was not heavy. any ideas as to what could be wrong with it.

cheers

Gary.

The noise could be a coin or something in the pump. The pump motor can be unscrewed from the housing to remove foreign objects. Sometimes a coin can also get jammed between the inner and outer drums and puncture a hole in the outer drum. If such a hole is only small it can often be welded using a soldering iron.
