Hotpoint Aquarius WF220 problems.

Hi.

The belt keeps coming-off but it looks fine. I have put it as far away to stop it from slipping-off.

Also, there is a loud noise when spinning as though there is a piece of metal being thrown aroudn inside the drum. Naturally, there isn't so could that be something to do with the bearings?

Any help appreciated.

Yep bearings gone that's why the belt keeps coming off.

Is that something that a novice like me could fix or should i be either looking at getting someone in to fix-it or is it a new machine?

If you feel you have some confidence and a bit of mechanical ability then you can do them yourself.

If the drum is banging around alot it could have a broken spider as well and possibly have damaged the inside of the drum or heater. Without taking it apart we could not say.

If you got time and a place to do it then it may be worth you stripping it and having a looksee. Just remember where all the wires and bits go (not too many really)

As the belt keeps coming it sounds well knackered poss need a rear half of the drum. Parts sill cost you about 40 quid or hotpoint will do it parts and labour about 110.00 or try yourself.
