I've kept my FDW60 dishwasher going for a few years now... in my time I've replaced the element a number of times, the door latch, re-attached the door and dealt with various leaks!

But I've got a problem that is stumping me now.

I had a eco and fast lights flashing, which I understand from other posts is pump related. When I power on the dishwasher the circulation pump runs very slowly (1 revolution takes approx 5-10 seconds) even before a wash program has been selected.

In addition the drainage pump does not run when a program is selected.

I've taken out and checked the drainage pump, the impeller moves freely and the pump runs when attached to an alternative power source.

I can rotate the circulation pump using a screwdriver in a slot on the back of the pump, and although I'm not sure how freely it should turn it turns fairly easily.

I looked at the PCB and the connections in the door of the dishwasher and there were no obvious signs of damage, although I cant find a wiring diagram to correctly identify the pump connections.

I'm thinking it's probably an electrical short or cross somewhere which is pushing current to the circulation pump, but was wondering if anyone has any additional suggestions on where to look, what to do?
