Hotpoint FF175B fridge not cold and making a noise

The above fridge freezer has started sounding quite noisey almost like a clicking sound when the compressor is running. It is also running a lot of the time. The fridge is no where near as cold as it should be, but the freezer I would say is probably ok, however I have not put a thermometer in there to check. Any ideas on possible causes, read somewhere it may just need a defrost?

Give it a 24 hr defrost. Then see if it works.
