I have recently had a dishwasher plumbed in and the plumber disconnected the hot fill pie to the back of the wshing machine telling me that i only needed a cold fill.since then the machine has not taken any powder, i have cleaned the drawer and the receptacle for the drawer to no avail, also its not taking any water on a 60 cycle
,any advice please, thanks

If he was fitting the d/w why did he need to touch the w/m fill pipes, waste maybe.
Anyway the chances are that the hot fill was not filling with hot water anyway unless the hot supply is close to the machine.
Check that the cold supply to the washing machines has been turned on fully & that the pipe is not kinked.

Most new washing machines have cold fill only, but If your washing machine has two inlets you must feed a supply to both water inputs.New machines with cold fill only will do all washes regardless of temperature by heating cold water up by the machine to the required temperature of that programme, but if your machine is hot and cold fill as yours is then on the higher temperature washes ie 60 and higher the machine opens up the hot input valve to fill. Therefore if there is no feed to this hot water input no water will enter the machine. If you have now not got a hot water supply a way around this is to fit a "y" peice fitting to the supply so you can connect a cold water supply to both the cold and the hot inputs on the machine .Then on the higher temperature programmes the machine will happily heat the water up to temperatutre required for that programme.

Thanks for your help guys i have got back in touch with the plumber and he is going to reconnect the hot fill pipe.

Nice one Many thanks
