I am having problems with this.
I get a buildup of ice along the back wall and the floor, and the top of the freezer becomes warm.
I paid for a repair several months ago, now out of guarantee. The technician basically just defrosted it and it was OK for a long time, but the same fault recurred.
I took off the back inside panel and found the elements were all iced over, and a very large block of ice formed at the bottom. I defrosted it and it's working for now.
I read a generic item that said this could be caused by
a) Fan
b) heating coil blown
c) defrost timer failed
I can see the fan works. I can see what looks like a separate heating coil running across the top and possibly behind the ice making coild, but I can't figure how to remove it, or test it.
I cannot see where the defrost timer is, or how to test.
Can anyone advise how to proceed, or the best place for parts? I think I'd be happy to replace both parts if that guaranteed it working again.
Many thanks, Joe
