Hotpoint Washing Machine WMA64 - Fills up - runs program but does not empty water. Disconnected waste pipe after pump and water flooded through pump and drained. Thought pipe must have been blocked but none found. Reconnected pipe and put machine on a rinse & spin program - machine filled with water, program ran until due to drain - wouldn't drain and went to end of program. Door locked. Think it maybe drain pump but dont know how to tell? Is this right? or is it something else?

Waste pipe not blocked - program stops and goes straight to end half way through cycle - when the first rinse is due - i.e when the first lot of water needs draining - could this be the pump? How can I tell?

Does the drain hose go into a stand pipe or a spigot under the sink?
If it's a spigot under the sink, check that first, if clear then there's likely something in the pump stopping it turning. Only way to find out is remove pump and see.
