First of all.....great site guys.

Machine is powering up fine but when trying to run the door locked light is not coming on and wash not starting. Checked sump filter (amazingly £12 better off) but didn't fix issue. Had lock mechanism out.....working fine (annoying waiting for it to reset each time). Checked control panel pcb but no signs of damage. Is there some tips to eliminating what the fault could be?

If no water enters or goes on the spin check motor brushes poss worn.

Thanks for the info Rock1. Are they generally easy to change? Or do I have to drop the motor?

Drop the motor , plenty of vids on you tube showing how to do it.

Bumping this post.

Same symptoms, my WD440 displays no error codes, but refuses to wash/spin/dry. Whatever programme you pick, it simply sits there with the relevant wash/spin light illuminated. The door locks but does not indicate this on the LED. On a wash cycle you hear it momentarily try to let in water (and the supply pipe jolts when this happens).... the PCB 'looks ok', no sign of cooking.
I've seen several posts reporting the same symptoms, where it's been mentioned that the brushes might need changing.... but no-one has confirmed whether this was actually successful.

Help please!! TIA

Well, just yanked the motor out and you can safely say that the brushes are past their best... replacements ordered, so here's hoping they are the cause! Cheers, will report back when replaced.

Brushes changed out.... it lives!!

Nice one Rocks1, u r a star
