Hotpoint WM63 - V Loud noise on fast Spin

My machine is now 6 years old. Checked the weights they are not loose and does not make a noise when turned manually. A Friend says it might be the hydraulic struts that hold the drum - tried to remove one but could not get at the nut to turn as the access v limited as back plate of m/c welded, any ideas please? (rip off back of m/c then screw back on?)
