Get the alarm off the shower circuit springs to mind.
When was the battery last changed?

But it does sound like its connected to the wrong circuit or it is being "spiked".

If you are checking isolate mains and test before opening any panels/CU`s.

Thanks for the reply, i think i am right in saying that the alarm would be via a spur, do you think this is on the same circuit as the shower MCB??
Or should i change the fuse in the spur, re the battery in the panel not sure when last changed

You need to confirm if the the supply to the alarm is from the same circuit as the shower first. Before you do anything.
As this is not a set up that should be in place.
It is an electric shower, not one that has pumps or boosters connected to the pipework?

Yes it could be on the same MCB as the shower.
However a low battery and a mains spike could also be causing this.

Safest option is to check the battery date in the panel.
It will either be written on, or have a stamped code.

Get the code, the make of the battery and i`ll tell you how old it is.

Again mains is present, isolate and test before opening the panel.

Hi, the battery is a Yuasa NPI 1.2-12 12v 1.2Ah, Possibly date 30/04/199?, there is also a serial number on the top of the battery which is 9032842, again this went off this morning when I pulled the shower cord on for the shower, do you think by changing the battery for a new one this will stop ? Thanks for your help

Do you realise that the neighbours are saying "Robs in the shower again!" every time it goes off lol.

The simple answer is to have a bath instead.

Sounds like that battery will be ancient & in need of replacement. (As well as being changed to not be on the shower circuit).

Yes it will, though your alarm bell may have its own battery/capacitor so this may run on for a few minutes until it is drained.
However, several people has raised the issue that the alarm needs to be taken off the shower circuit and placed either on the ring final circuit or the lighting circuit. You keep avoiding this issue.

Hi sorry, i am aware of this but need to look further into this in the dist board, because the panel was going off when i used the shower circuit i thought this could be a possibilty, i will investigate this and if neccessary take it off this circuit and out onto another circuit, thanks for all your helpful advice.

Sorry I missed this, the battery was made march 28 1999. Well over due for a change, 5 yrs is the recommended.

You need to get the alarm spur off the shower circuit and a new battery, problem solved.

Also what make and model is it, because you have a bloody tiny battery in there. sounds like someone skimping.
