My neighbour has obained planning permision to extend his house along a passage below a small bedroom. I wish to apply my self to for a larger extension. The small bedroom is terribly cold because it is exposed in 2 walls, floor and ceiling. From my measurements one of the side walls is shared with the next door house.

I have almost finished my AUTO CAD drawings for the extension. However, I am uncertain about the thickness of the wall I have to build next to the neigbouring house. Do I have to build a brick wall and briss brick wall? At what distance from the neighbouring wall should be mine?

Your neighbour may have planning permission, but can he get Building Regs consent?

Those passages might be intended as means of escape from fire.

The right hand wall on the first floor is shared with my neighbour. What I do not know is if the right hand wall, under the small bedroom and along the passage, is also shared or I if have to build my own wall.

There is no regulation for MOE in this context or situation

You need to find out ownership from your deeds.

If it is a habitable room on the other side of the wall, you won't need to insulate it
