How best to finish furniture made from Iroko?

I don’t think Iroko would be the ideal timber to use for a child’s cot. I am not sure that the concentration of natural oils found in Iroko would be safe for children given the fact that they will cut there teeth on the rails.
On a personal note; being a grandparent my self and a professional cabinet maker I wouldn’t dream of using Iroko, for the above reasons.

definately not iroko for that one!! Awbcm is right Iroko one of very few woods that some people have bad allergic reactions too, its mainly when working with it but even so if theres any chance keep a baby away from it.
