We've just taken all the tiles off the bathroom walls in order to just have painted walls instead. However, doing so has relealed that the partition wall with the door from the hallway is actually just plywood.

We've managed to get a lot of the tile adhesive off, but what are my options with regards to smoothing the surface before painting so that it matches with all the other plastered walls?

Thanks.

Rip it down and replace with plasterboard, get it skimmed.
