how do i change the alternator on my poegot 405 diesel

i need to replace the alternator on my poeugot 405 diesle its a l reg but i'm not sure if i have to remove the timing belt as weel help

No, you don't have to remove the timing belt, just the auxiliary drive belt.
A Haynes workshop manual will give you step by step instructions. Not a difficult job.
