Hi,
I need to cut through 1mm steel. I only have to cut through about a foot. I need a cheap option to do this, no fancy heat rays!

I have a jigsaw. Will a metal cutting blade work?
I have an angle grinder. Will any metal cutting disc work?
Perhaps a metal nibbler?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks, Steve.

grinder and jigsaw will both do with the correct blade
jigsaw for curves
tin snips will also do it
what are you cutting/making

Tip if cutting thin metal make a sandwich between 2 piece's of thin wood ply etc, will stop it lift & grabbing.
Use fine tooth metal hack saw blade, but depends on if the saw has a deep enough throat.

Good question!

I have never worked with metal, just wood and stone and I'm not good at trying things out unless I know they work.

Saying that I found a jigsaw blade saying 'steel' on it (which kind of gave me a hint it might work on steel  ) and it sliced straight through it.

Thanks for replying though.

Steve.
