Can anyone give me advice on how I can fill a crack that runs from the fireplace in the living room directly up into the bedroom above and continues into the attack?

The crack in the plaster is at least 6 inches deep and follows the fire flue - obviously caused by heat expansion etc.

I filled the crack in with polyfiller about 10 years ago, but is now becoming noticeable again and I will need to fix it again...
any advice on the best way to do this will be greatly received!!
Thanks for your time.

Fill it with polyfiller - it'll be good until 2021.
